About Mrs. Godina/Acerca sobre la Señora Godina
Born in Indio, CA from Mexican farm worker parents, I hold California education really close to my heart. In particular, I hold special education close to me due to having a sister with special needs. I attended the University of California, Los Angeles and received my Bachelor's degree in Chicana/o Studies with a minor in Education and Spanish. I received my Master’s Degree in Urban Education Language and Culture with a Bilingual credential from Loyola Marymount University. I have worked in the community of Los Angeles for the past 10 years striving to promote higher education to students of color. For a short time I was involved in the Health field, later to find that my passion was always in education.
On my spare time, I like to visit my family back home and in Mexico. I also like to visit friends and explore new parts of Los Angeles. I enjoy listening to music and indulging in Mexican FOOD ( actually, any kind of food).
